German First Western Riding Union (EWU)
Debonair and Horsemanship are key terms of Western riding featuring with much flair. The riding method of the American cowboy offers a perfect basis for recreational activities with the partner horse - be it riding in the woods or at a horse show. The German First Western Riding Union (EWU) is a qualified contact for Western riding. The horse's breed doesn't matter, they all are welcome at EWU. EWU Rheinland is committed to a multitude of events and training offers. Training is particularly important to EWU. With a multitude of further training possibilities EWU contributes to preserve tolerance and fairness of horse-keeping for mutual achievement of the main goal: harmony of horse and human being. Since in 2000 the rules and standards for training and competition of the German equestrian sports - the training and examination regulations (APO) of the German Equestrian Federation - have covered the various training methods offered by EWU to their members. The choice varies from the beginner Western riding award (Hufeisen Westernreiten) to the bronze Western riding award and training as A-trainer for Western riding. Furthermore, there are many possibilities to educate yourself into theory and praxis.
